I bought this as a gift, hoping it would be hard plastic. It’s soft foam, and we had to use some fine-gauge beading wire to shape ours, but it looks GREAT hanging on the wall of a long-time Friday fan. He loves it! It’s nicely designed so that if he ever gets contacts agan, he’ll be able to wear it as a costume piece, and I expect that’s why it’s soft foam–much more comfortable for actual wear. I’d love to see a version released that has the axe mark in the forehead that got put there in one of the earlier sequels, too.

I bought this for my son’s Jason costume. The full costume came with a mask, but it looked cheesy in the pictures, so I purchased this one in addition to it. I’m glad I did! While we were out trick-or-treating I heard a child comment “Look, He has the REAL Jason Mask” to a friend that had another style Jason costume on. It made my 7 year old smile from ear to ear 🙂 It was a little big for him, but was doable. He didn’t complain. (He has a pretty large head for a seven year old. I think this is intended for 12-13 years old give or take a few years).

I read all the reviews on this mask and was leary about buying. I am so glad I did. It is very realistic and a little big, but Im sure it would fit a mans face better. It was flat as a pancake when I recieved it, and made of a foam type material. However, I took the scissors and carefully trimmed it to fit, then took a paperclip and clipped the back together, let it sit for about a week. Perfecto, it fit like a charm. Had an absolute blast being Jason for Halloween.

can’t complain to much for seven bucks, It’s pretty neat for hanging on your wall but when you put it on your face it seems to lose the oval hockey mask shape, read one review of someone saying they wove a wire around the mask to keep the shape but I’m not going through that much trouble, after I ordered it I found another one for 10 bucks that was made of plastic and not foam so I think I’m gonna try that one but I got a feeling to get what I’m looking for I’m gonna have to spend 165 to 245.00 on an authinic one made of fiberglass I have found and they got about 10 different mask for each of the “friday the 13” series I’m talking like a mask for each different scene too

Overall it would do fine for my sons Halloween costume. It looks about the same as the ones from other seasonal halloween stores unless you want to go for the $40 purchase. For this one night he will be more than happy as I am I. Note, around the trimming in the front of the mask it does say something as far as Made in China.

My only problems with the mask were that it was made out of foam and the shape. Since the mask is made out of foam it is less durable and it bends and tears a lot easier than something else. Also when I put on the mask at the top it came sort of like a square and didn’t hold its shape very well at the top. Lastly in one eye hole there was a screen, but in the other eye hole there was not.

Just as an FYI, this mask looks NOTHING like what is pictured (which is why my 11 year old son had asked me to purchase it for Halloween to begin with). I was fortunate enough to purchase it from a seller who allowed me to return it once my son saw it (and quickly realized it’s nothing like what was pictured), but I would not recommend this mask to anyone. It being made from foam isn’t the problem (like some other reviewers had mentioned). The main issue I had is that it’s huge! My son has an adult size head yet I would of had to tape the mask down all around his face/head (assuming that it had looked like what was actually pictured). It’s like flat shaped–I’m not sure how else to explain it cuz it looked so weird…

Bought it for our 10 year old’s halloween costume … the mask is more of an adult size, and in real life the mask doesn’t look anywhere near as good as the product photos.
